Mohan Bhagwat asks Sangh workers to uphold and propagate principles critical for social harmony and national resurgence

NEW DELHI: RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat asked Sangh workers to uphold and propagate principles critical for social harmony and national resurgence.
During his five-day Aligarh visit, RSS chief engaged with Sangh workers, highlighted the importance of preserving traditional Indian family values, which he considered fundamental to Indian society.
At his final meeting with RSS functionaries from central Uttar Pradesh’s Brij region on Monday, he highlighted the importance of preserving traditional Indian family values, which he considered fundamental to Indian society. He emphasised that traditional practices, including family meals together, were essential in developing society’s moral foundation.
Bhagwat emphasised ‘Samrasta’ as a crucial concept for social harmony. He directed RSS pracharaks to work towards eliminating caste discrimination, which he identified as harmful to social unity.
He acknowledged Dr B R Ambedkar’s contributions to establishing an equitable India.
“The nation is indebted to Ambedkar for infusing a spirit of reform and justice in modern India,” he said.
Regarding economic aspects, Bhagwat emphasised reviving ‘Swadeshi’, encouraging support for locally manufactured goods based on traditional skills.
He noted that embracing Swadeshi strengthens both economic and cultural aspects.
The RSS chief spoke about environmental protection, highlighting the importance of preserving India’s natural resources, wildlife, and traditional water management systems like village ponds and lakes, which face challenges from contemporary living patterns.
He discussed the importance of ‘Civic Responsibility’, stating that all citizens should participate in nation-building through their daily actions.
“Civic sense must become a part of our national character,” he said.
The Aligarh visit was part of the Sangh’s continuous engagement with local workers to strengthen its ideological foundation and community initiatives.
