NGO partners with Karnataka School Education Dept to launch skill training centre in Bashetihalli

BENGALURU: AJAX Charitable Trust, working under the Shala Dattu Yojana initiative in collaboration with the Karnataka school education department, plans to launch a skill training centre in Bashetihalli, Doddaballapura.
The centre is expected to focus on industry-relevant programmes that align with local employment needs. It aims to train youth in specific skills and industries, such as construction technology and digital literacy, providing pathways for long-term employment and economic mobility.
A press statement released by the Trust said that the govt schools they provided interventions with showed high enrolment and student retention rates.
The Government Higher Primary School (GHPS) in Bashetihalli, for instance, saw enrolment doubling from 400 to over 800 students in recent years.
Similarly, 12 govt schools across Doddaballapur, Gowribidanur, and Shivamogga also witnessed a steady rise in enrolment, teacher retention, and classroom engagement, the press release said.
“By strengthening teacher training, introducing specialised educators, and expanding student support programmes, we are ensuring that learning is not just about textbooks but about equipping students with the skills and knowledge that will serve them for life. Our upcoming skill training centre will further bridge the gap between education and employability, giving students the tools to succeed in the workforce. Education, when done right, has the power to uplift entire communities, and we remain committed to making that a reality,” said Vijay K, Chairman of AJAX Charitable Trust.
