“This is my tribute to all the Kannadigas in my life,” said Sonu Nigam, before performing the Kannada song Anisuthide Yaako Indu… to a thrilled Belagavi audience. The singer was performing at an event organised by a Belagavi college. The two-hour performance featured a diverse setlist, including several Hindi, Kannada, and Marathi songs. Addressing the crowd during the show, he said, “Every time I perform, someone yells ‘Kannada!’ So, this is my tribute to all the Kannadigas. You can imagine the scene, people from all over India – Punjab, Gujarat, and more – are clueless about the Kannada song, but that one Kannadiga will be happy.”
