Former Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan is much in the news lately– this time for being linked to a mystery woman with whom he was spotted at the India and Bangladesh ICC Champions Trophy 2025 match in Dubai. Pictures and videos of Shikhar Dhawan and the woman went viral on the internet, and netizens were quick to notice that she is the same woman with whom Shikhar was earlier spotted in November 2024. As per reports, the woman is identified as Sophie Shine and these incidents have fuelled rumours of Shikhar Dhawan dating her.
More recently, at an event, Shikhar even confirmed that he has moved on from his divorce and is now with someone special. Confirming that he is now dating someone, Shikhar said at the Times Summit 2025, “Yes, I have moved on. I wouldn’t say I was unlucky in love— rather, my choices came from inexperience. But now, I have experience, and that will come in handy. It was a learning curve for me.”
When asked if he is ready to love again, he said, “I am always in love!” However, Shikhar refrained from naming his new lady love. On being asked who she is, Shikhar gave a witty response and said, “See, I know how to dodge bouncers in cricket, and I know you’re throwing one at me now. But I won’t get caught. I will not take any name. But the most beautiful girl in the room is my girlfriend. Now you can figure it out.”

She also studied at Ireland’s Castleroy College. Currently, she works as the Second Vice President at Northern Trust Corporation, and is based in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Shikhar and Sophie’s love story began a few years ago in Dubai, reports suggest. Their friendship quickly blossomed into a deeper connection, and they’ve reportedly been together ever since. Over the past few months, their relationship has grown stronger— so much so that they moved in together over a year ago, a clear sign of their commitment.
Adding fuel to the romance rumors, fans have pointed out that Sophie shared glimpses from the 2024 IPL season while Shikhar was playing for Punjab Kings. Interestingly, Shikhar first liked one of her Instagram posts on June 13, 2023—a subtle but telling detail that hasn’t gone unnoticed by their followers.
Shikhar Dhawan’s past relationship with Aesha Mukherji
Before Sophie Shine, Shikhar Dhawan was married to Melbourne-based kickboxer Aesha Mukherji. Shikhar and Aesha got engaged in 2008 and tied the knot in 2012. Shikhar and Aesha welcomed their son, Zoravar, in 2014, and that’s when Shikhar also adopted Aesha’s two daughters from a previous marriage. But, trouble soon started brewing in their marriage, and they got separated in September 2021. In October, 2023, they finally got divorced with the court ruling in Shikhar’s favour on the grounds of ‘mental cruelty’.
The couple had a long custody battle for their son, Zoravar, which Shikhar lost. He intially had occasional video call interactions with Zoravar, but the cricketer claims that he has been blocked by Aesha and has had no contact with Zoravar for many years now.
